Gaianyx began with a visit to the International Antarctic Centre in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Inside its gift shop was the kind of apparel that felt different from an ordinary souvenir: expedition-inspired shirts and sweatshirts marked with McMurdo patches and bold station lettering. The designs felt connected to a real place, a real history, and the people who work at the edge of the world.

After returning to the United States, we discovered that the piece we wanted more of was not available to purchase online. So we decided to create our own.

That simple idea grew into Gaianyx.

Today, Gaianyx creates adventure wear inspired by extraordinary locations across the planet—from national parks, glaciers, volcanoes, and remote islands to archaeological sites, UNESCO landmarks, ancient civilizations, and places shaped by exploration, science, geology, and human history.

We grew tired of the typical souvenir aesthetic: disposable garments, novelty graphics, and designs that say little about the places they represent. We wanted apparel that feels more like expedition gear—a wearable record of where the world has been, what it has endured, and what people continue to discover.

Every Gaianyx design begins with a place and the story behind it. Our expedition patches are created to recognize not only remarkable landscapes, but also the researchers, explorers, cultures, communities, and generations of people connected to them.

Gaianyx is not about collecting ordinary souvenirs.

It is about carrying a piece of the journey with you.
